Computer-based Testing Center

TestingCenter

Located on the lower level in Room 35, the College Testing Center is dedicated to providing examinees the opportunity to test fairly and under conditions conducive to achievement. The primary purpose of the Testing Center is to provide computer-based classroom testing for the College in a proctored secured environment. The Center would also provide testing support for distance students.

Classroom tests would usually be administered in the classroom during the normal course of a semester. The Testing Center allows instructors to administer their tests in the Testing Center instead of the classroom. This provides the following advantages:

  • Tests can be written to take 2 or 3 hours. Tests administered during class time are usually limited to one hour.
  • Tests can be available to the students for a longer period of time. This provides greater flexibility to the students allowing them to take the test at more convenient times.
  • Initially, the Center will be configured with 18 computers. The Spring 2008 Semester will be a pilot phase for the Center and your input will be very important.

For more information or Testing Center hours, contact the CBA Instructional Technology Manager at 472-5246 or the CBA Technical Services Manager at 472-0690.
