Six faculty members at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business earned promotions for the 2026-27 academic year. Effective in August, the promotions recognize the faculty's commitment to academia and their achievements in research, teaching and service at the college.

“These six faculty members are outstanding educators and scholars making a meaningful impact on our college, the university and their disciplines,” said Kathy Farrell, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean and professor of finance. “Through their commitment to teaching, research and service, they continue to elevate our college and inspire the next generation of business leaders.”

The promotion process includes five levels of internal review, beginning at the academic department level and culminating with the university's executive vice chancellor. External reviewers also assess faculty members based on national prominence in research, including quality and quantity of publications; teaching, including publishing textbooks and cases as well as teaching quality; and service to the college, university and the profession through committee service, journal editorial boards and more.

“At Nebraska Business, our mission is to drive discovery, create opportunity and empower individuals to lead the future of business. The promotion of these faculty members reflects their dedication to research excellence, transformative teaching and engagement that advances their fields and strengthens our college,” said Emre Unlu, associate dean of faculty and research, Paul C. Burmeister College Professor of Investments and professor of finance.
