The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business ranks No. 36 among the nation’s public undergraduate business programs in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The top 58 overall ranking places Nebraska alongside universities such as Auburn University, Florida State University, Syracuse University and Villanova University.

“We are proud to see Nebraska Business recognized among outstanding business programs across the country,” said Kathy Farrell, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of the College of Business. “What matters most is what that recognition means for our students and the kind of experience we are creating for them. From their first semester, they explore business, work with business professionals and peer coaches, and apply what they learn to a real-world challenge with a corporate partner. We are preparing students to lead the future of business and that starts day one.”

The recognition comes as demand for a Nebraska Business education remains strong. The college welcomed 958 freshmen this fall, marking the third consecutive year with a freshman class of more than 900. It enrolled 975 freshmen in 2025 and 900 in 2024.

Donor support helps make a Nebraska Business education more accessible while strengthening student experiences. During the 2026-27 academic year, the college awarded a record $1.75-plus million in scholarships to incoming and current students and added endowed chairs to attract and retain outstanding faculty.

“Our alumni and friends have strong Husker ties and want to make an impact through their philanthropy,” Farrell said. “Their generosity provided more than $1.75 million in scholarships, helping make a Nebraska Business education more accessible and giving students more freedom to focus on learning, building relationships and preparing for their careers.”

The UNL College of Business was the only undergraduate business program in the state to rank among the nation’s top 80 schools.
