Dr. Kang has taught accounting and international business courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels to both traditional and executive students. Prior to joining Nebraska, he held full-time appointments at McMaster University (Canada), Oklahoma State University (as the Arthur Andersen & Co. Alumni Centennial Professor and the Wilton T. Anderson Endowed Chair Professor of Accounting), Florida Atlantic University, and Singapore Management University. He has also held visiting appointments at Bocconi University (Italy), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), ESADE (Spain), ITESM (Mexico), Korea University (South Korea), McGill University (Canada), Sophia University (Japan), University of Sydney (Australia), and Xiamen University (China).
He has published research findings in the Accounting Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Accounting Horizons, and others. He has reviewed articles for Accounting, Organization and Society, the Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and served on the editorial boards of Journal of International Business Studies and Journal of International Accounting Research. Currently, he serves as an editorial board member of Contemporary Accounting Research and an associate editor of the Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting.
