2022 BYU Accounting Research Productivity Ranking

Nebraska's School of Accountancy is No. 1 in Nebraska, No. 6 archival tax worldwide and No. 12 archival audit worldwide in the latest ranking Measuring faculty research among over 600 international institutions, Nebraska earned the recognition based on the total research output of the school's faculty in the top 12 peer-reviewed accounting journals. The rankings are broken down into three distinct time periods—the past six years, the past 12 years and all publications since 1990—so that each year’s ranking builds on the previous year’s number.

Where Accounting and Improv Collide to Create Better Accountants

A new, innovative accounting course called Research and Communication in Accounting (ACCT 455) merges business and improv to prepare future accountants for the ever-changing industry. Through writing, research and improvisational techniques and tools, students are equipped with increased confidence, effective communication and collaborative teamwork to thrive as future leaders.

The School of Accountancy was endorsed by IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession. By meeting their educational standards, students can pursue the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential and careers in private and public accounting.
