Kay Maresh joined the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business in 2017.  Maresh teaches several undergraduate and graduate level tax courses, as well as a course in Accounting and Ethics.

Maresh graduated from the University of Nebraska Law School, and has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Colorado State University.  She is a CPA and licensed attorney.  Maresh has over thirty-five years of experience in public accounting and was a managing director at Deloitte.  During her public accounting career, she provided tax services to various private and public companies, as well as individuals.  

ACCT 312 Federal Tax Accounting - Federal and state income tax concepts. Includes theory and historical growth of the fundamentals of the federal tax laws and regulations. Emphasis on the practical application of the tax laws in the preparation of the tax returns (for wage earners and sole proprietors) and the need for tax planning.

ACCT 407 Ethics and Accountants - Role of a professional accountant, codes of accountants, ethical decision making, the legal, regulatory and social environment in which an accountant makes an ethical decision.

ACCT 815 Tax Research and Planning - Development of skills in identifying problems, interpreting facts, conducting research, and communicating results in the field of Federal taxation.

ACCCT 816 Special Topics in Taxation - Areas of Federal law that are especially relevant in the prevailing economic and political climate.

ACCT 819 Partnership Tax Accounting - Federal income taxation for partnerships. Tax laws associated with formation, operation, distribution, disposal, and dissolution.
