The Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln named 29 faculty and staff as the 2023 class of Entrepreneurship Campus Fellows, who work to connect and create entrepreneurship-related activities across different colleges and areas at the university.

"These campus fellows enhance the visibility and impact of all of our individual efforts by curating and communicating available classes, co-curricular and extracurricular events relevant to entrepreneurship so that more students can take advantage of them," said Samuel Nelson, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and associate professor of practice in management. "With campus fellows in every college on campus, students can find support for wherever they are in their entrepreneurial journey."

The Campus Fellows program enables the center to communicate opportunities across campus while connecting people to build relationships, create interdisciplinary opportunities and share resources. Campus fellows also receive access to the center's community fellows to serve as class speakers and student mentors.

"It's truly rewarding to already witness the invaluable benefits that our fellows and students derive from the interactions fostered by this program. For example, we've identified some gaps to bridge and seen more interdisciplinary collaborations with class speakers and projects, events and workshops. We also saw a jump in non-business majors participating in the center's Innovation Challenge, making up 40% of students in the creativity-building competition," said Nelson.

The class is the first after the program's revision and relaunch earlier this year. The fellows will each serve a two-year term with the ability to renew in subsequent academic years.

"This excellent group of people were chosen as campus fellows because of their known interest in entrepreneurship and their desire to share that with students. They champion student connections across campus because they know the best teams are made up of students from multiple disciplines," said Amanda Metcalf, program and external relations manager for the Center for Entrepreneurship.
