Urban, author of "What’s Our Problem? A Self-Help Book for Societies," is known for helping audiences think differently about complex issues. His TED Talk, “Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator,” is among the most watched worldwide and has introduced millions to his signature blend of humor, clarity and big-picture thinking.

In his presentation, Urban will explore the evolving American landscape and how rapid changes in technology, geography, government and media have shaped the way people think and engage with one another. He will introduce the visual framework at the center of his bestselling book, a vertical axis designed to add nuance to political and societal conversations. The approach encourages students and participants to sharpen their thinking, engage in more meaningful discussions, and gain a deeper understanding of the forces influencing public life.
