Seven faculty members at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business earned promotions for the 2025-26 academic year. Effective in August, the promotions recognize the faculty's commitment to academia and their achievements in research, teaching and service at the college.
“These seven educators and scholars exemplify leadership, not only within their departments and across campus, but also in their academic disciplines,” said Kathy Farrell, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean and professor of finance. “Their dedication to innovative teaching and meaningful research continues to shape the future of business education.”
The promotion process includes five levels of internal review, beginning at the academic department level and culminating with the university's executive vice chancellor. External reviewers also assess faculty members based on national prominence in research, including quality and quantity of publications; teaching, including publishing textbooks and cases as well as teaching quality; and service to the college, university and the profession through committee service, journal editorial boards and more.
“At Nebraska Business, our mission is to drive discovery, create opportunity and empower individuals to lead the future of business. The recent promotions of our faculty members exemplify this commitment. Through their dedication to research excellence, transformative teaching, and meaningful engagement, they not only advance their fields but also enrich the experiences of our students and stakeholders.” said Emre Unlu, associate dean of faculty and research, Paul C. Burmeister College Professor of Investments and professor of finance.
