The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business community comes together to celebrate Business Week (B-Week), Oct. 7-10. Sponsored by Union Pacific and the College of Business and coordinated by the Nebraska Business Student Advisory Board, the 100-year tradition originated in 1921 as BizAd Day.
"Business Week, or B-Week for short, provides business students with the opportunity to celebrate, learn and connect. From gaining insights on internships or entrepreneurship, getting a professional headshot to showcase them in the business world to engaging with peers at the Thursday student tailgate, students gain information about and become more engrained in their Nebraska Business community," said Rachel Larson, assistant dean of academic and career development.
The long-standing tradition include various events and activities open to business majors and minors. This year, the programming and timing allow students to take a break as they approach mid-terms.

This year, B-Week includes more events from different departments of the College of Business. President of the Nebraska Business Student Advisory Board Avery Plessel, a senior marketing major from Beatrice, Nebraska, hopes these new events give students the opportunity to become more familiar with various departments and organizations around the college.
"B-week has been around for just over 100 years and has consistently been an opportunity for College of Business students to celebrate our college," Plessel said. "I would like people to know that they should utilize B-Week to get to know the College of Business faculty, staff and other students. New students will spend the next four years here, so having connections and learning your way around is vital."
