Nebraska Business Jumps in U.S. News & World Report Rankings
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business moved up significantly in the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings for undergraduate business programs.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business jumped in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. Nebraska's undergraduate business program ranked No. 30 among public universities and No. 53 among all national institutions.

"This recognition confirms our reputation of building business leaders like only Nebraska can, We are committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the ever-changing world of business. It also underscores our focus on fostering innovation, collaboration and real-world learning opportunities that prepare our graduates to lead the future of business with confidence and integrity,” said Kathy Farrell, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean and professor of finance.

The ranking comes during a record-breaking 11.1% increase in the freshman class at the College of Business, with the overall college student body growing to 4,398, a 3.1% increase. First-time freshmen in business also increased by 25.2% since 2021.

"We launched a new business analytics major to meet a growing employer demand across every industry. We also partnered with the College of Law to offer a business and law major, and that program continues to grow," Farrell said. "Our academic programs receiving the largest increase in students, such as accounting, actuarial science and finance, are crucial to meeting Nebraska's workforce needs."

The college also invested in student services, including academic advising, strengths and career coaching, and free tutoring. The college also offers specialized programs like the Nebraska Business Honors Academy, Inclusive Business Leaders and Entrepreneurship Catalysts to create a greater sense of belonging.

"This year we provided $1.4 million in scholarships to students through the support of generous alumni and friends. We also added endowed chairs to help us attract, hire and retain the best faculty," Farrell said. "Our alumni and friends have strong Husker ties and they want to make an impact on our students and our college through their philanthropy. We are grateful."

The only undergraduate business program in the state of Nebraska to crack the top 90 programs ranked was the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. U.S. News’ rankings on graduate programs are released in the spring.

In the overall university rankings, Nebraska's flagship moved up seven spots to No. 152 nationally. Of all public institutions, Nebraska also leaped 19 spots to No. 81 this year.
