Plavini Punyatoya, a marketing Ph.D. student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, recently became the second Ph.D. student ever to receive a research grant from the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA). Punyatoya’s proposal, “Effective Time Management In Sales: When An Hour Is More Than Sixty Minutes,” earned the award for her ingenuity and exploration of the time management aspect of sales. » Full Article

Nebraska Business Retains Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

The College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln earned reaccreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for an additional five-year period. One of the 17 AACSB charter members in 1916, Nebraska builds upon its more than 100-year history as a leading business school with this reaccreditation. Only 5% of all business schools globally receive the designation, a worldwide marker of quality in business education. » Full Article

Relationships make up the foundation of modern business transactions. Argha Sen, a fourth-year Ph.D. marketing student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business, formed his graduate research around business relationships, and how they exist in two-sided business-to-business electronic environments. His dissertation on the subject recently won the Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) Doctoral Support Award Competition. Starting a connection is something Dr. Jiri Tresl, visiting professor of finance, does remarkably well. Whether collaborating with friends to conduct research or combining data sources to reveal new relationships, Tresl discovers new ways to make connections in the world around him. Tresl and coauthor Jan Hanousek met while networking during a conference in 2012 and the two became immediate friends. Working with Anastasiya Shamshur, fellow coauthor and former student of Hanousek’s, the group created an entirely new database, combining extensive financial information with the most accurate information on bribery to currently exist. » Full Article
