 Compete in the Nebraska qualifying round of the Tenaska Business Challenge on October 31, 2025. Two winning teams will earn the chance to represent Nebraska in this multi-university case competition in February 2026 and compete for additional cash prizes against schools from across the country.

Important Information

The Tenaska Business Challenge Qualifying Round kicks off on Sunday, October 19, and submissions are due via Canvas on Sunday, October 26. Judges will review all submissions, and all teams will be invited to attend the in-person feedback sessions on Friday, October 31 in the College of Business. After the afternoon feedback sessions, the top three 3 teams will be announced and will receive cash prizes.

3 additional awards, selection criteria to be determined by judges:

The two top-performing teams will represent the University of Nebraska–Lincoln at the 2026 Tenaska Business Challenge to compete against other universities, held February 25- 27 in Lincoln, for the opportunity to compete for additional cash prizes. The third-place team will serve as the alternate team.
 

Who Can Participate?

Teams of three to four UNL undergraduate students, across any major.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up as a team or an individual. Visit the registration link at the top of the page to get started. Participation is free and email Kasey Linde with any questions.

Do I have to find my own teammates?

You can enter as a team or as an individual. If entering as an individual, you will be placed into a team prior to the start of competition, and we will notify/connect you all.

Can I compete if I'm not a College of Business student or in any business classes?

You do not have to be a College of Business student to compete.

Will the competition be online or in-person?

All teams will be invited to attend the in-person feedback sessions on Friday, October 31, in the College of Business. After the afternoon feedback sessions, the top three teams will be announced and will receive cash prizes.

If we win, how do we receive the prize money?

Winners are paid via check to your student account. The prize money is split evenly among team members. Please let us know via email if you are a student-athlete prior to participation.
