Dr. Yanxin Liu earned his Ph.D. in actuarial science from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, in 2016. His research addresses topics related to longevity risk. His dissertation is titled “Modeling and Managing Longevity Risk: Models and Applications.”

Actuarial Application of Applied Statistics (ACTS 830) - Theory and applications of contingency mathematics in the areas of life and health insurance, annuities, and pensions. Probabilistic models.

Undergraduate Courses

Actuarial Applications of Applied Statistics (ACTS 430) - Introduction to forecasting in actuarial science. Simple and multiple regression, instrumental variables, time series methods, and applications of methods in forecasting actuarial variables. Interest rates, inflation rates, and claim frequencies.

Life Contingencies I (ACTS 470) - Theory and applications of contingency mathematics in the areas of life and health insurance, annuities, and pensions. Probabilistic models.
