Nebraska Ranked No. 7 Best Online MBA Program by The Princeton Review
The Princeton Review ranked the MBA@Nebraska program No. 7 in the nation. The Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2024 were selected based on data from surveys completed by administrators at over 400 business schools offering online MBAs and more than 32,000 students enrolled in online MBA programs across the nation.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln fully online MBA@Nebraska ranked No. 7 in the latest The Princeton Review® listing of the nation’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs and continued to be the No. 1 online MBA program in Nebraska.

“The University of Nebraska–Lincoln continues to prioritize offering a high-quality and affordable MBA program,” said Aaron Crabtree, associate dean of master's programs and executive development, KPMG Faculty Fellow in Professional Accounting and associate professor of accountancy. "Once again, The Princeton Review ranking shows that our MBA@Nebraska program has a great reputation for its academics and career outcomes."

Named in the top eight for the third consecutive year and the top 20 for the sixth, the MBA@Nebraska provides great value and outcomes for students. Gretchen Holthaus, director of MBA and online graduate programs, explained the program's high return on investment.

“MBA@Nebraska students benefit from a top-ten ranked program that is less than a third of the average cost. Our graduates also report starting salaries of over $140,000," said Holthaus.

Tuition and fees for the MBA@Nebraska program total less than $33,000. In comparison, other top 10 programs average $98,000.

"Many students share how they reap the benefits of their MBA while enrolled by applying what they learn in our program at work," she said. "They also note how our fully online, mobile-optimized classes offered in eight-week sessions allows students to earn their degrees while continuing to work and fulfill family and life commitments."

The Princeton Review editors chose the 50 programs based on data from surveys of administrators at more than 409 business schools. Factoring in data from surveys of more than 32,300 students enrolled in online MBA programs, the company weighted more than 60 data points with criteria focused on five core areas: academics, selectivity, faculty, technical platforms and career outcomes.

“Our goal has been to help b-school bound students identify the MBA program best for them," said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief. "The schools that made our list for 2024 all have impressive individual distinctions. What they share are three characteristics that broadly informed our criteria for these rankings: outstanding academics, robust experiential learning components and excellent career services. Equally impressive is that our best b-schools for 2024 garnered highly favorable ratings among its MBA students we surveyed."

In its profile of Nebraska’s online MBA program, The Princeton Review includes comments from MBA@Nebraska students who praised the "tremendously helpful" yet "challenging" professors who are also "very accessible." They noted how their peers "come from a huge variety of educational and professional backgrounds," which "makes collaboration very exciting." Students said, "the academic rigor is very high" while the workload is "significant but not overwhelming," and "professors and UNL understand the challenges facing the students and have done a wonderful job of molding their program to fit the needs of the students."

According to The Princeton Review, students spoke highly about the “well-rounded” curriculum with many elective courses all “structured into eight-week semesters making it easy to focus on one course at a time while working full-time.”

"Our MBA@Nebraska evolved over the past 60 years to meet the changing needs of our students. The Princeton Review ranking and our student's feedback speak to how our online MBA program features a purposeful curriculum with relevant, interactive classes taught by respected faculty at our Big Ten business school who prepare our students to lead the future of business,” said Kathy Farrell, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean and professor of finance.
