Snow will soon be coming to Nebraska, and with it comes the season of gratitude. At the College of Business, our true differentiator in our 110 years as a college is our people. I’m thankful for my colleagues and our students who challenge themselves and ask bold questions that contribute to building a world-class college; our partners outside of the college who collaborate inclusively across campus, in the community and throughout the nation to make it matter; and our alumni and friends who help us look to the future and support our efforts to take Nebraska Business to the next level.
Homecoming is traditionally a time for those connected to the university to celebrate, reminisce and return to campus. This year we, along with the Chancellor’s Commission for the Status of Color, invited three notable business alumni back to campus - Aakriti Agrawal, '16 (actuarial science and finance) and '22 (MBA) from Phoenix; Ivan Gilreath, '82 (marketing) from Scottsdale, Arizona; and Josiah Hood, '15 (finance) from Chicago. The trio shared their experiences with students at Hawks Hall and were recognized as distinguished alumni by the university. I’m grateful for the time we were able to spend with these three alums and to the Chancellor’s Commission for honoring them. Also, a big kudos to the Nebraska Alumni Association for putting together a successful Homecoming.
In October, we also celebrated the service of many colleagues at Nebraska Business, including a 30-year milestone at Nebraska for myself. I’m grateful to them for utilizing their talents, faculty to teach and engage in impactful research, staff who support students, programming and recruitment efforts, to execute on the mission of the college, and lead the future of business.
I’m also thankful for our alumni and friends who help support our needs and make the many opportunities we offer students, faculty and staff possible. From supporting faculty research, student scholarships or through fellowships, you make a difference in people's lives through our work at Nebraska Business.

Again, thank you for all you do for the college.
