67th Tax Institute Offers Interactive Review of Law Changes
Leading tax expert Guido van der Hoeven returns to present at the 67th Annual Federal and State Income Tax Institute, which offers six in-person and two online options to attend the seminars for tax professionals’ continuing education.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers 67th Annual Federal and State Income Tax Institute in November and December. Continuing its legacy of statewide access to the latest training in tax law, the institute will be delivered through two online delivery options during a six-city tour. To register, visit: and early registration rates end Friday, Oct. 22.

The Tax Institute provides tax professionals, advisors and attorneys with professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest rulings, regulations and developments in the tax field. To better serve participants in 2021, the Tax Institute offers two online format options: a two-day livestream session or an online self-study program.

"Offering in-person and online access to high-quality professional development speaks to our university’s mission as the state’s flagship, land grant institution. Professionals can earn their continuing education credits in a format that best meets their needs from presenters with years of experience making complex tax issues easier to understand,” said Dr. Emre Unlu, executive director of the Center for Executive and Professional Development, who coordinates the Tax Institute.

Attendees participate in real-time from anywhere with a stable, high-speed internet connection. For employers who choose to host a group viewing, participants individually register, and a designated onsite proctor verifies attendance for the institute. Online participants receive books and materials through the mail.

Online Self-Study Program
The most flexible option, the online self-study program, allows professionals to review the material at their own pace. These include video recordings professionally edited from the Lincoln seminar, review questions and presentation slides. To earn continuing education credits, a self-study participant must earn 70% on the final test per IRS requirements and complete the test prior to Dec. 31. Self-study participants receive books and materials through the mail.

The Nebraska Tax Institute fulfills the continuing education requirements for certified public accountants, IRS enrolled agents, preparer tax-identification number holders, Annual Filing Season Program preparers, certified financial planners, attorneys, tax return preparers, Nebraska Department of Insurance agents and other licensing agents.
