Apply for Study Abroad Scholarships

If you are applying for any study abroad program, we encourage you to apply for scholarships to assist with going abroad. Many students combine several small awards that add up to make a big difference.

To apply for College of Business specific scholarships, complete the MAPS Scholarship Application available on MyWorld. Scholarship deadlines include: October 1 for spring programs, January 5 for summer programs and March 1 for fall programs.

A NODDLE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR EXPERIENCE
Costa Rica: Coffee Entrepreneurship and Finance
January 2-8, 2020

A special study abroad program for students selected into the Alan Noddle International Business Distinguished Scholars program, this experience offers hands-on experience in affecting a Costa Rican coffee farm with Husker ties. Students will spend the fall semester learning about various aspects of coffee production and follow up their studies visiting different farms and members of the Farmers Project, an initiative started by Nebraska alumni to help other coffee producers achieve Direct Trade.

China: Global Perspectives
SUMMER 2020

CoB and CASNR students will understand the contemporary and cultural issues in China as they relate to business and agriculture while participating in this program located near Xi’an. In addition to site visits to Beijing, students will gain a stronger understanding of the differences in business culture and practice in China. An extended internship placement opportunity is available in Chengdu.

Brazil: Language, Culture and Business Projects
SUMMER 2020

In collaboration with Nebraska’s Department of Modern Languages, students will be immersed in the Portuguese language and experience Brazilian culture instruction in the vibrant city of Salvador followed by a business practicum in a local company or nonprofit. Getting to live with a host family and interact with local Brazilian students is an opportunity you do not want to miss!

Situated in the quaint south of France, Aix-en-Provence is a magical French village rich with culture and a long heritage of fantastic cuisine. Malaysia: Actuarial Studies: A Malaysian Perspective
SUMMER 2020

Collaborating with the Actuarial Science program at Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, students will work on an interactive case study activity with local Sunway actuary students. The program will include visits to various Malaysian insurance companies and networking opportunities with actuaries working in the area in addition to experiencing the vibrant cuisine and culture of Kuala Lumpur.
