Be prepared!

  • Know who is coming, check digital signs, weekly Business Career Center newsletter, or pick up a paper calendar outside of the Business Career Center.

  • Ask good questions.

    • What does your organization do?

    • What skills do you look for in recruits?

    • Do you have job shadow opportunities?

    • Would you participate in an informational interview?

    • What internships/full-time opportunities do you have available?

  • Follow-up after your conversation

    • Send a LinkedIn connection

    • Send a thank you email

    • Ask to meet up for coffee to continue the conversation.

Employer in Residence - Employers

Thank you for your interest in Employer in Residence!

Registration for Fall 2022 opens on June 13, 2022; registration for Spring will begin in November. There is one Employer in Residence each day, Monday through Friday. Organizations can participate one time per semester. Dates are on a first come first reserved basis.

Engagement with Nebraska Business Students, Faculty and Staff

Information Booth – Create brand recognition and an opportunity to share information about your organization, industry and positions.

  • Students stop by in between classes. (MWF classes run 50 minutes, MW classes run 75 minutes, TR classes run 75 minutes).

  • Your booth will be located in the South Lobby between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

  • Giveaways, drawings, position descriptions, brochures and your active engagement will attract students to your booth.

  • Any food provided at your booth must be ordered through Yes Chef, the College of Business caterer.

Employer in Residence is marketed through:

  • Business Career Center's weekly student newsletter which is sent to all CoB students on Fridays
  • Digital signage throughout Hawks Hall
  • On the College of Business's Instagram account, @NebraskaBiz
  • Business Career Center's Employer in Residence webpage
  • Career Courses through the Professional Enhancement Program (PrEP) taught by the Business Career Center
  • Weekly email notifications sent to all College of Business faculty and staff

  • There is only one parking spot designated for the Employer in Residence. This spot is located next to the northeast corner of the College of Business. Employers can park at the sign that reads, "College of Business Guest Only" and has a yellow pole.

  • After you park, enter the building through the northeast doors and check in at the Business Career Center (HLH 141) to receive your parking permit which must be displayed in your vehicle. If you do not display the permit, we are not responsible if you are towed.

  • Additional parking—The closest garages to the College of Business are:

    • 14th and Avery Garage located at 1111 N. 14th Street

    • Stadium Garage located at 625 Stadium Drive

  • The College of Business Career Center does not validate parking. More information can be found on the Parking and Transit Services website.
