Employer Participation Information
You can apply to participate in this program throughout the academic year. After your application is received, we’ll be in touch with information about your matched employer and when you must complete your job shadow with them. We'll also send you some tips about how to get the most out of the experience. Following your day at the host employer, you'll complete a brief evaluation of the program and your host. You can participate in multiple job shadow experiences.
Overview of Experience: Shadow daily commitment planning meeting, observe daily work & candidate interviews, attend lunch off-site, and participate in a meet & greet with current employees & potential candidates for open jobs .
Length: 4 hours
Recommended Majors: Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing
Overview of Experience: Job shadow will include: observing of daily duties, tour of organization, and attendance of any interviews or meetings going on that day. Can possibly shadow General Manager, Sales Director, and/or Office Manager.
Length: 2-4 hours

Overview of Experience: This would include observation of daily work, tour of the organization, follow up informational meeting/interview.

Overview of Experience: Welcome & Meet and Greet with our Omaha Office Leadership (30 minutes) , Participate in a 1 on 1 job shadow experience in Audit, Tax, or Technology Assurance (1 hour), Tour our KPMG Omaha Office (30 minutes), Networking Lunch where students have the opportunity to connect with UNL alumni (1 hour), Ask the Recruiter Presentation on best practices for resumes, interviews, and a quick overview on KPMG's Learning & Development Strategy and benefits for early career applicants (30-45 minutes).

Overview of Experience: Student will meet with one of NRC Health's Account Development Managers to learn about Business Development. In addition, the student will have the opportunity to learn how we use SalesForce, Sales Navigator, and more. After meeting with the Account Development Manager, the student will be invited to lunch with our team.

Overview of Experience: Join us for a complete site tour and overview of the Financial Advising Career at our Omaha office. Hear from a variety of firm advisors and leaders. Shadow daily workings of financial advisors and firm support staff. Attend lunch off-site, and participate in a meet & greet with current advisors and staff.

Overview of Experience: You will have the opportunity to accompany RentVision's Senior People Development Manager. The shadow will include an office tour and introductions to various team members, a thorough examination of RentVision's hiring process, providing you with insights into the decision-making behind our hiring practices. You will observe the backend systems and tools utilized for candidate selection, as well as witness any ongoing candidate evaluations. Beyond the hiring process, we will discuss RentVision's policies related to employee development, exploring the tools and resources available to our employees. Additional topics to be covered include Human Resource software and tools, a company overview, an internal operating system review, and any other areas of interest the student may have. The shadow experience will conclude with a paid lunch, providing an opportunity for the student to ask any remaining questions they may have.

Overview of Experience: Meet with HR and have a short tour of the facilities; observe daily work of specific areas of interest and any tangential areas that fit the student’s area of study; meet and greet with current interns.

Overview of Experience:The experience will start with an overview of the company and tour of our building. Next the student will meet with key individuals within the Actuary & Risk teams to learn about job roles and responsibilities. Finally, the team will take the student out to lunch and expand on experiences and answer questions.

Employers submit a job shadow description in order to participate. The description will include:
The Business Career Center will make the “match” and inform both the employer and student of next steps, including the deadline for the job shadow to occur. The employer and student will determine the date and time of the job shadow. Employers will receive contact information for all students who applied for the job shadow program, regardless of the match. Following the job shadow, employers will be asked to complete a brief evaluation of the job shadow program and their student participants. Employers will be allowed to offer multiple job shadow experiences but are not guaranteed that all experiences will be matched to students.
