The DREAMBIG Academy provides diverse, upcoming high school seniors the opportunity to learn about the dynamic world of business and potential career opportunities at the College of Business of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The summer academy emphasizes leadership, networking skills and success in the business world. The week will also consist of fun activities across the University campus including staying in a residence hall and meeting new friends from across Nebraska. Participants qualify for the Nebraska Emerging Leaders Scholarship of $2,000 for completing the program and meeting academic requirements their senior year in high school.

Who is Selected to Attend the DREAMBIG Academy?

    DREAMBIG Academy participants are current high school juniors expected to graduate in May 2020, who have a 2.5 GPA or higher, have an interest in business and meet at least one of the following additional criteria:
    • First generation college student
    • Underrepresented identity
    • Meet federal guidelines for low-income status or qualify for free or reduced lunch

What Participants Will Do?

    • Learn about the world of business
    • Participate in a college experience first-hand -- academically and socially
    • Tour local businesses
    • Align skills with their career goals
    • Present their ideas in a professional context
    • Learn about opportunities at UNL
    • Work in a team to create a business and present your idea to a panel of judges

What Are the Benefits of Participating in DREAMBIG?

    • Opportunity to network with peers, business leaders, as well as UNL faculty and staff
