Six CBA Students Up for Homecoming Royalty

The College of Business Administration has six students on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Homecoming court. Royalty will be crowned during halftime of the Nebraska-Illinois football game, set to kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Memorial Stadium. Election for king and queen is Thursday, Oct. 3, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through the MyRed portal for UNL students. 
Dean Donde Plowman, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of the College of Business Administration, said: “I am very proud of the students who are representing CBA on the Homecoming court. They go through a rigorous interview process and are selected by a committee represented by the entire campus. It’s a great honor.”

  • Margo Berends is an economics and political science major with minors in French and African studies from Aurora, Colo. She is president of the CBA Student Advisory Board.
  • Grant Fehr majors in marketing and business secondary education from Omaha, Neb. He is vice president of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
  • Shane Hertig is a management major from Scottsbluff, Neb. He is the co-founder of the Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity.
  • Emily Phillips is an actuarial science major from Overland Park, Kan. She helped write the CBA student ethics code as a member of the Student Advisory Board Ethics Code Committee.
  • Chris Spanel is a finance-investment analysis major with a minor in English from Lincoln, Neb. He is a founding member and president of the Big Red Investment Club.
  • Zach Stull is a business administration major with minors in economics and Spanish from Omaha, Neb. He is the president of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
