Nearly 760 Business Students Earn Degrees from Nebraska

At two University of Nebraska–Lincoln Commencement ceremonies at Pinnacle Bank Arena and Memorial Stadium this weekend, nearly 760 business students will receive their degrees and become the newest Husker alumni. Doctoral and master's degrees will be awarded at the Graduate Commencement at 3 p.m., Friday, May 17, in Pinnacle Bank Arena, and bachelor's degrees will be conferred at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 18, in Memorial Stadium. Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett will preside over both ceremonies. » Full Article

After 45 years of service in higher education, Janet Near, associate dean of faculty and research, Howard L. Hawks Chair in Business Ethics and Leadership and professor of management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, retires in May. Joining Nebraska in 2016, she amassed more than 28,000 citations to her work while also amplifying her colleagues accomplishments across the college. » Full Article

Students Give $10,000 to Impact Two Lincoln Nonprofits

Students in the Philanthropy and Leadership (MNGT 411) course at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business discover how nonprofits empower communities and philanthropy can foster positive change. Their hands-on project called Strive to Thrive Lincoln culminated in two local nonprofits — Camp Kesem and Mourning Hope Grief Center — receiving a total of $10,000 in grants in May. » Full Article
