Umeda Islamova is the Director of Business Consulting at the Center for Entrepreneurship. She provides guidance, mentorship and resources to students, staff, faculty, and community businesses including strategy, marketing, financial management, sales growth, HR resources, etc. She also holds workshops to help business owners create strong business foundation and grow successful businesses in Nebraska.
Umeda's professional experience include Center Director for Nebraska Business Development Center where she coached over 300 businesses and was awarded the America's Small Business Development Center State Star; Product Management and Operations Management at a software company, ISoft Data Systems, where with the help of software engineers, she turned a minimum viable product into a widely-used technology implemented at 25 facilities across US, 6 figure revenue, and recipient of the Prototype Grant with the Nebraska Dept. of Economic Development; Commercialization and marketing at NUtech Ventures which led to licensing of a faculty invention to ISoft Data Systems. Research assistantship at the Center for Entrepreneurship where she aided in research on initial public offerings. Umeda ran a few retail businesses. She currently owns a global online retail shop.
Umeda earned her MBA in Strategy in 2012 and Bachelors of Science in Finance in 2008.
