Kathy’s Point: Hawks Hall Keeps Giving Back as Students Return to Start Fall Semester
Dean Kathy Farrell welcomed students to the annual College of Business Back to School Bash inside Howard L. Hawks Hall while temperatures climbed to 104.6 degrees outdoors. After encouraging students to get involved, meet the Nebraska Business community and try new things, she put her own spin on the event by helping DJ – with guidance and support from Edgar Montoya, recruitment coordinator at the college (shown taking a moment to rehydrate).

The beginning of the fall semester marked our fourth anniversary in Howard L. Hawks Hall. A gift that keeps on giving, it not only brought all of the College of Business under one roof but also serves as a central hub for our Nebraska Business community to gather, collaborate and do big things.

As the temperature soared to 104.6 degrees, new and returning students flocked to Howard L. Hawks Hall on August 27 for our annual Back to School Bash, sponsored by Sandhills Global. We had a great turnout in the Henrickson Family Atrium and students learned more about our majors, distinctive programs and student organizations and were able to experience a sense of the Nebraska Business community from day one. They also stretched their strengths while meeting their peers, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. I also tried something new by attempting to DJ with assistance from Edgar Montoya, our recruitment coordinator at the college. I definitely put my own spin on the event. Experience the 2021 Back to School Bash.

The College of Business is also hosting two notable events, where you can engage with old friends and make new ones this fall. Please save the date for the:
