Three students from the UNL College of Business Administration were awarded Nebraska Chamber of Commerce scholarships at a banquet held Thursday, February 7, at the Lincoln, Neb., Cornhusker Marriott hotel.
Josiah Hood, Mary Alice Karel and Christopher Spanel were each awarded scholarships. Spanel was awarded the "Jack Swartz Scholarship" and both Mary Alice Karel and Josiah Hood were awarded the "Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry Scholarship.” Each scholarship is worth $2,500.
CBA Dean Donde Plowman attended the event and praised the students for their exceptional achievements.
“These students are all well deserving,” Plowman said. “The goal of the scholarship program is to build on our future and ensure strong business growth in Nebraska. Each of these students is representative of what the award intends.”
The scholarships are awarded to students attending Nebraska colleges or universities who are seeking degrees in business-related fields of study. The program is administered through the Nebraska Community Foundation.
