The online MBA program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration is the No. 1 best value online MBA program in the world. Financial Times tapped Nebraska with its top ranking in value as well as No. 4 in the world in career services. The program’s overall ranking was No. 15.
 
“This ranking recognizes one of the most important factors considered by prospective students: value for your money,” said Dr. Kathy Farrell, interim dean. “Nebraska’s online MBA program consistently ranks among the best worldwide because our students receive the same high-quality program whether they take courses on campus, online or both.”
 
Factors propelling the program to the top 20 in the world include career progress, online delivery, program diversity, idea generation, program value and additional considerations such as average completion time. Average completion for students in Nebraska’s online MBA program is three years.
 
“For more than 50 years, our MBA program has been a pioneer and innovator in distance and online education,” said Dr. Tammy Beck, associate dean for graduate programs and external engagement. “Earning an MBA at Nebraska has proven to be a tremendous value and a stepping stone to greater achievement.”
 
The ranking recognized Nebraska for the career progress of the program’s alumni, with graduates increasing their salaries by an average of 37 percent. The program earned a No. 4 ranking for career services, defined as effectiveness of the school’s career service in terms of career counseling, personal development, networking events and recruitment.
 
This is the fourth year Financial Times ranked online MBA programs. To be included, a business school must be accredited from AACSB and/or EQUIS and run online programs for at least four years. Financial Times collected data through two online surveys – the first completed by the schools and the second by alumni who graduated in 2013.
 
Other recent rankings for the online MBA program include No. 21 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten for veterans by U.S. News & World Report.
