Thanks to our big-hearted supporters who propelled the 2024 Glow Big Red — 24 Hours of Husker Giving on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14 and University of Nebraska's Charter Day, Feb. 15, to new heights at the College of Business. More than 385 gifts helped raise a record-breaking $131,065 to provide opportunities for our students, faculty and staff. Accounting Course Recognized for Innovating Business Education

An accounting class at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln was recently recognized as an innovation in business education by the MidAmerican Business Deans Association (MABDA). Taught by Amanda Gonzales, associate professor of practice in accountancy, and Julie Uribe, an Emmy-winning lecturer in the university’s Johnny Carson School of Theater and Film, the course empowers future accountants to communicate effectively in the workplace. » Full Article

At Nebraska Business, every person and every interaction matters, which highlights the importance of community. This includes looking after each other’s well-being, including focusing on serious issues like mental health and suicide prevention. In September, known as National Suicide Prevention Month, we came together to dedicate a yellow bench promoting the national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline number (988) in the lower level of Hawks Hall. » Full Article

This fall marks our 110th year as a college. Starting as the School of Commerce, it was the first time all areas of business were under one roof on campus. Our name changed to the College of Business Administration and we moved to 12th and R streets, later outgrowing the location and expanding across campus. With leadership and support from our generous alumni and friends, all of the areas of business were brought back together six years ago, under one roof in Hawks Hall as the College of Business. » Full Article
