Plavini Punyatoya, a marketing Ph.D. student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, recently became the second Ph.D. student ever to receive a research grant from the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA). Punyatoya’s proposal, “Effective Time Management In Sales: When An Hour Is More Than Sixty Minutes,” earned the award for her ingenuity and exploration of the time management aspect of sales. » Full Article

Nebraska Business Retains Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

The College of Business at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln earned reaccreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for an additional five-year period. Hallie Lockhart, a senior marketing major from Arvada, Colorado, will study abroad in Australia this December – enjoying the country’s summer season. While there, students are immersed in unique natural wonders and exposed to different ways of thinking about agriculture and ecosystem services. A former member of the Nebraska women’s cross country team, Lilly Markusch saw her collegiate athletic career end before it could gain any steam. After a serious left leg injury in her freshman year, she re-injured it at a fundraiser event with her business fraternity last November. This time, however, it would be much worse. She completely tore the muscle in her left leg. It was so bad that going into surgery doctors told her there could be a chance her leg would be gone when she woke up. » Full Article

Students gained valuable experience for their résumé and earned three credit hours in a Special Topics: Lincoln Industries (MRKT 490) course at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business. Argha Sen, a fourth-year Ph.D. marketing student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business, formed his graduate research around business relationships, and how they exist in two-sided business-to-business electronic environments. Students found success during their first semester in Howard L. Hawks Hall. More than 1,000 business students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln were named to the Nebraska Business Dean’s List for the 2017 fall semester. The 929 undergraduate students who earned this recognition upheld a cumulative grade-point average of 3.6 or higher for the semester.
