UNL GMAT Strategy Workshop Offered October 29

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln will offer a GMAT Strategy Workshop on Saturday, October 29, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Led by Stephanie Espy, founder and president of Atlanta-based MathSP Strategies and Problem-Solving, the workshop prepares prospective graduate students for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

The GMAT measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills for graduate admission. The workshop is designed to give those interested in learning strategies and approaches for taking the GMAT a competitive edge. Espy leads students through each component of the test, strategizing how to approach questions and helping students through sample questions.

“This workshop can help you be more efficient in answering questions when you take the test,” said Kerri Hiatt, MBA senior advisor and assistant director of MBA programs. “If you are interested in taking the GMAT, this workshop is the perfect in helping you form a personal plan to conquer the GMAT.”

Those interested in jump-starting their GMAT prep are invited to register for the UNL GMAT Strategy Workshop at http://mba.unl.edu/gmat. The registration fee is $125 and includes The Official Guide for GMAT Review 2016 book, continental breakfast and a comprehensive GMAT information packet. If participants already own the book, registration is $90.

“Without the GMAT workshop, I would have been completely lost trying to figure it out on my own,” said Tommie Bardsley, a current UNL MBA student. “I highly recommend the GMAT workshop to everyone preparing for the exam. The insight gained is invaluable to the exam taker.”

Check-in and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. in CBA 128. Registrants are encouraged to use the parking garage at 11th and Q streets and dress in casual attire. If you have questions, please call the staff in the CBA Office of Graduate Programs at 402-472-2338.

An official score on the GMAT is one of the admissions requirements for the UNL College of Business Administration master’s and doctoral programs including the MBA. The UNL MBA program is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in any field and offers ultimate flexibility with on-campus and distance options.

The GMAT is also required for the college’s two newly created master’s programs including the master of arts in business with a specialization in intercollegiate athletics administration (MAIAA) and the 11-month, cohort-based master of arts in business administration (MABA).
