The International Business Advisory Board will be the 15th addition to the advisory boards at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration. More than 215 members serve on CBA advisory boards and the international business board adds seven renowned leaders.
 
Advisory board members act as mentors and counselors to students and professionals in CBA seeking expertise in international business. The members will meet two or more times per year as a board, including during the exclusive CBA Partnership Summit held each fall.
 
“The International Business Advisory Board is a select group of industry and community leaders who are passionate about contributing to student learning and international experiences,” said Dr.  J.K. Osiri, associate professor of practice and director of the international business program. “They bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives, and their advice enriches the international business curriculum. They engage with students both in and out of the classroom, and assist with efforts to secure the future of our programs. They want to see the next generation of Huskers succeed, and I am fortunate to be working with this dynamic group of individuals.”
 
Members of the board include: Jon Clifton ’07, managing partner at Gallup, Washington D.C.; Alan Fairbanks ’05, ’08, global business development at Hudl, Lincoln, Nebraska; Nicole Konen, ’06, ’09, associate at Fraser Stryker PC LLO, Omaha, Nebraska; Scott Kroeker ’88, vice president of international sales at Lindsay Corporation, Omaha; Allan Noddle ’62, former president of Daymon Worldwide in Greenwich, Connecticut; Sylvester Orsi ’86, ’92, attorney at Baird Holm LLP in Omaha; and Jim Sanduski ’83, president of Sharp Electronics in Osaka, Japan.
 
Each board member boasts an impressive global résumé and connections to UNL as alumni. The diverse group represents various industries such as electronics and technology, law, software, management, and food and beverage.
 
Clifton is a member of Gallup’s executive committee and is responsible for the company’s global government work. He is responsible for the Gallup World Poll, an ongoing study conducted in more than 160 countries. Clifton also serves on various other committees including the board of directors of the Meridian International Center and StreetWise Partners.
 
Fairbanks works in global business development for local Lincoln business, Hudl. Hudl is a leading software company revolutionizing the way coaches and athletes prepare for and stay ahead of the competition. More than 114,000 active teams and nearly 3.5 million unique users operate with Hudl, from the smallest youth organizations to professional franchises in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.
 
Konen’s practice focuses on business and corporate law and she assists her corporate clients at any stage in their development. She works with small startups established international institutions and non-profit organizations. Konen was selected to the 2013-15 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list and was awarded the Guy Cleveland Chambers Gold Medallion for having the highest grade point average in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Law Class of 2009.
 
Kroeker’s responsibilities for Lindsay Corporation include worldwide sales and marketing for its subsidiary Lindsay Transportation Solutions Road Zipper System. Previously Kroeker worked as principal with Global Sales Management, LLC for more than 11 years.
 
Noddle has experience working and counseling in 28 countries on four continents. He held a number of leadership roles at Daymon Worldwide following a successful career at Ahold, where he oversaw all of its Latin American and Asian companies. He was the first American asked to serve on its corporate executive board. Prior to this, he served as CEO of Ahold USA Support Services and executive vice president of Giant Food in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
 
Orsi is a corporate attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing both public and private companies in complex international corporate and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project finance, public offerings and private placements of securities, corporate governance, ethics and compliance and dispute resolution.
 
Sanduski is the president of Sharp Electronics. His responsibilities include Sharp’s consumer electronics and home appliance businesses across the functional areas of product marketing, brand marketing, sales, supply chain, finance and administration for the United States and Latin America.
 
The international business program at UNL teaches business students the practices and management methods of other nations, and how international trade laws affect the world economy. Students in the program are expected to seek foreign language fluency through CBA-sponsored study abroad programs and other opportunities. Each international business student spends a minimum of 13 weeks abroad to meet graduation requirements.
