Event Description

This webinar will focus on providing guidance on how to utilize the online Talent Availability Dashboard, https://unlbbr.shinyapps.io/goc_talentavailability/, developed by the Bureau professors and Scholars. This study and the accompanying dashboard provide detailed information about the count of unemployed persons and job openings within the 10-county Greater Omaha Area. The Greater Omaha Area includes the 8 Nebraska and Iowa counties in the Omaha MSA plus adjacent Dodge and Otoe county Nebraska. Counts are provided for the 2nd Quarter of 2021 and projections are provided for the 2nd Quarter of 2022.

The future number of job openings determines the projected change in the count of unemployed persons over the next twelve months. In each county, projections are made for hundreds of individual occupations and 20 major industry groups. Aggregate counts of unemployed and job openings also are provided for each county by zip code and by demographic groups, including by gender, ethnicity, race, age, and veteran’s status.

Dr. Mitch Herian, Project Director at the Nebraska Bureau of Business Research will host this session. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts during the Q&A session.
