UNL Economics professor, Dr. Seth Giertz, testified before the Nebraska Senate Revenue Committee regarding a current bill (LB-620) aimed at reforming Nebraska's individual and corporate income tax structure.
Gierz spoke for about a half hour at the request of Nebraska State Senator Tyson Larson. The bill being debated would impose a flat state income tax rate in 2014 and eliminate a number of widely used itemized tax credits and deductions.
