MBA@Nebraska Ranked as a Top 15 Program by Poets&Quants
The MBA@Nebraska program ranked No. 15 in the latest Poets&Quants ranking for online MBA programs. The program ranks third among those offered by Big Ten institutions.

The MBA@Nebraska program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers one of the nation's most outstanding online MBA programs, according to Poets&Quants. Ranked No. 15 in their 2023 ranking of the Best Online MBA Programs in the U.S., the MBA@Nebraska program jumped 12 spots from last year. The ranking also places the program No. 3 among Big Ten institutions.

Poets&Quants is an online publication for business education news. This year marks the sixth annual online MBA ranking, based upon programs' admissions standards, academic experience and career support.

"As early adopters of distance education technology, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has more than 20 years of experience offering a top-quality online MBA. Receiving our fifth top placement in rankings this year speaks to how we continue to innovate and enhance the program to maximize the experience and outcomes for our students," said Aaron Crabtree, associate dean of master's programs and executive development, KPMG Faculty Fellow in Professional Accounting and associate professor of accountancy.

Earlier this year, the MBA@Nebraska ranked No. 1 best value in the U.S., No. 3 best career services in the world and No. 9 best online MBA program in the world by Financial Times. The program additionally ranked No. 8 in the world by the Princeton Review and No. 31 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

"Many of these rankings are determined in part by reported alumni satisfaction, like this one. Poets&Quants shared that when they asked alumni if they would recommend their program to colleagues, friends or family members, it was nearly a perfect score," said Crabtree. "We are uncompromisingly committed to offering in-depth advising services, top-rated career coaching and continuous faculty development in online education. These contribute to the online MBA program’s student satisfaction and success."

Poets&Quants chose its top 50 online MBA programs based on admissions data from each school and survey responses from students who graduated between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022. Nebraska took seventh in highest admissions standards that weighed students' undergraduate GPA, average years of work experience, acceptance rate and GMAT score.

"This year's new students boasted an average of 10 years of work experience, contributing to a robust and diverse learning environment. With a tenured faculty known for their expertise, combined with knowledgeable classmates, you are connected with people who can help you advance," said Gretchen Holthaus, director of MBA and online graduate programs.

The ranking also considered career outcomes from alumni reporting a salary increase or promotion to rating the program's career coaching. Nebraska's online graduate students benefit from a world-leading career center in the College of Business that provides them with interview preparation, resume reviews and personalized career coaching.

"Our college's career coaches help our students assess their current career stage, think strategically about new opportunities and help them market themselves more effectively," said Holthaus. "Many students share how they reap the benefits of their MBA while still enrolled by applying what they learn at work. Students report an average increase in salary of nearly $20,000 upon graduation with 97.5% of MBA graduates employed or starting their own business.”

MBA@Nebraska’s fully online, mobile-optimized classes are structured the same way so students can start a new class without tech stress. The eight-week courses use the Canvas platform, and classes feature guided video walkthroughs and live group discussions.

The application deadlines for the MBA@Nebraska include November 1, April 1 and July 1. To view the current Poets&Quants ranking of online MBA programs, visit: https://go.unl.edu/u30c.
