Dr. Les Carlson to Receive Outstanding Paper Award at MEA Conference

Dr. Les Carlson, professor and interim chair of marketing at the UNL College of Business Administration, recently was awarded Outstanding Article of the Year for 2011 for his article, "Educating Students to Give them a Sustainable Competitive Advantage." The article appeared in the December 2011 issue of the Journal of Marketing Education.

The award was bestowed by the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Marketing Education, which will honor Carlson at the Marketing Educator's Association (MEA) annual conference to be held in Long Beach, Cal., from April 19-21.  Carlson will receive the award with his co-authors, Dr. Christopher Hopkins, associate professor of marketing at Clemson University, and Dr. Mary Anne Raymond, professor and chair of the Clemson marketing department.

Carlson, who came to Nebraska from Clemson in 2008, originally received his Ph.D. in marketing from UNL. His expertise are in consumer behavior, consumer socialization, marketing communication and services marketing.
