Dr. Scott Friend, assistant professor of marketing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration, was recently awarded the 2012 Outstanding Faculty Award on behalf of Delta Sigma Pi, the UNL business fraternity.

Friend has demonstrated active involvement with marketing students since joining CBA in August 2010. He stresses student engagement through unique real world marketing sales simulations in the classroom, and also has emphasized student participation in national activities such as the National Collegiate Sales Competition.

Friend has expertise in business-to-business marketing, customer relationship marketing and sales management. He received his graduate degrees from Georgia State University and undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia.

Delta Sigma Pi promotes the study of business, high scholarship and social activity among business students. The fraternity engages students with speakers, company tours, banquets and community service projects.
