CARMA Webcasts Resume for Fall

The Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA) announced the 2017-18 webcast series providing advanced training on various topics in research methods and data analysis. The upcoming webcast series covers a wide range of topics and discusses research methods and techniques of interest to numerous disciplines.

The fall webcast schedule begins on Friday, September 22 in the brand-new College of Business building at 14th and Vine Street, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (CoB 010) at 11 a.m. central time. Dr. Jeff Edwards, Belk Distinguished Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of North Carolina, will give his talk on Extending Methods for Integrating Moderation and Mediation. His presentation will give a back-to-basics approach for specifying and testing models that integrate moderation and mediation, explaining how the equations for any model can be written and combined to derive, estimate, and compare any effects of interest.  Viewers will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the bootstrap, showing how bootstrap coefficients generated by any statistical program can be used to construct confidence intervals of interest in Excel.

The next webcasts continue on Friday, October 20th with back-to-back lectures by Dr. Donald Berge (University of Denver) and Dr. Richard Landers (Old Dominion University). Dr. Berge will present Verifying Empirical Research Findings and Dr. Landers will discuss Creating Datasets with Social Media. The final set wraps up for the fall semester when Dr. George Banks (University of North Carolina-Charlotte) and Dr. Todd Little (Texas Tech University) visit campus Friday, November 10th. Dr. Banks will discuss the importance of Questionable Research Practices and Dr. Little will present on Parcel Indicators in SEM. The remaining five webcasts will resume in January

The entire list of 10 webcasts for the 2017-18 year is listed on the CARMA webpage. Visit the webcast programs page for more information.
