College of Business students and faculty recognized for recent achievements include Aditya Gupta, Dr. Eric Thompson,Weiya Wang and the Delta Omicron chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.
  • Aditya Gupta, a marketing doctoral candidate with expertise in experiential marketing, was quoted in an Oct. 19 Omaha World-Herald article on reactions to Nebraska’s new tourism slogan. The story also appeared in the Kearney Hub.   • Dr. Eric Thompson, Nelson Professor of Economics and director of the Bureau of Business Research, was interviewed for an Oct. 24 Nebraska Radio Network story on recent swings in the stock market. He said the rate of economic growth is moderating, which is reflected in the stock market.   • Weiya Wang, a graduate student pursuing a master of professional accountancy, was selected to represent Nebraska at ThinkChicago, joining a select group of 200 college students who attended the conference for exposure to the tech industry in Chicago. Students chosen as top talent were selected based on interest and experience in technology, innovation, and/or entrepreneurship as well as demonstrated academic and professional excellence.
  • The Delta Omicron chapter of Beta Alpha Psi was recognized internationally as a distinguished chapter. The recognition acknowledges how the student organization exceeded requirements and excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism and leadership. Alexandra Miller, president of international honor organization for accounting, finance and information systems, also commended Deb Cosgrove, associate professor of practice in accountancy and faculty advisor of the chapter, for her continued service.
