Discover Accounting is a free program designed to provide rising high school seniors with an overview of the many career opportunities in the accounting profession and a brief introduction of business. No prior accounting or business coursework is necessary.
At the Discover Accounting pre-college program, you will:
- Meet industry professionals and tour their workplaces
- Compete to create solutions to a business problem
- Celebrate with your parents/guardians at a reception held by the School of Accountancy
The program also enables you to:
- Meet college and high school students with similar interests as you
- Experience what it's like to live on campus by staying in a university residence hall
- Learn how to prepare for college, pay for school, engage support and make your future
To become a part of Discover Accounting, you must:
- Complete your junior year in the spring of 2020
- Submit a transcript of a completed Algebra II class
- Have a minimum GPA of at least 3.0
- Submit your application by April 19
Additional dress code information will be included with follow-up prior to the event to help attendees plan for corporate visits.
