  • To be considered for the Clifton Builders Program, you must be a first-year student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
  • Students begin the program the first semester of their sophomore/second year.
  • The program is open to all majors.

The first step of your application will be taking an entrepreneurial assessment to learn about your strengths as a business builder and leader.

You will need 20 uninterrupted minutes to complete the assessment. Have fun!

Take the test at Gallup Strengths Center. Enter your BP10 Code: ESF-GB7XX-2P4CG

Then come back here and choose "Yes, I have completed BP10"

Essay questions

Definition of a builder: “A builder is a person with natural talents that help them create positive impacts in their communities, businesses, and teams.”
(300 word limit each)
Select one of the following three essays to complete:

  • What have you built? Illustrate your Builder talent in action by telling us about something new (product, service, business idea, etc.) that you have successfully accomplished or are currently in the process of launching.
  • Describe a time when you were key to the success of a team. Tell us about the energy you brought to the team, the leadership skills you used, and how you contributed to the overall success of the team.
  • Describe an experience where you made an important contribution to your community. Explain why you were passionate about the issue or cause, the role you played in leading change, any obstacles you encountered, and the impact your work made on the community.
