Dr. Silvana Trimi earned her Ph.D. in management information systems from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, her M.A. in business management from UNL and her B.S. in finance from the University of Tirana, Albania. She joined the College of Business in 2001 and offers expertise in the areas of business/big data analytics, global information systems and supply chain, digital transformation and innovation, electronic commerce, and data communications and networking. Her teaching includes Data Analytics, Advanced ICT for Business Operation and Innovation, Global Information Systems, Enterprise Information Systems Management, Electronic Business, and Data Communications and Networking.

Her research interests are on Digital Transformation and Innovation, Innovation and Future Jobs, Social Networking, E/M-government, Organizational and IT Innovation, Digital Convergence, Big Data, Machine Learning and Neural Networking, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Smart Enterprise Systems and Knowledge Management.

She has published more than 60 articles in such journals as: Communications of the ACM, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of World Business, Communications of the AIS, Information and Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Management and Data Systems, International Journal of Public Administration, Group Decision & Negotiation, Management Decision, Journal of Innovation and Knowledge, Journal of Knowledge Management and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education.

She is an Associate Editor of International Journal of IT Service, and Service Business: An International Journal. She has edited one special issue for Service Business: An International Journal, and has co-edited one special issue for International Journal of Information Technology and Management, and one for International Journal of Information & Decision Sciences.She serves in the Editorial Board of nine journals and in on Review Board of more than 15 journals. She has participated and presented her work in more than 40 national and international conferences, and has served in several professional committees. She has also received three research grants.
