Dr. Paul Shoemaker completed his Ph.D. at Penn State University, in business administration and accounting in 1989. He received his MBA in finance from Marywood College in 1983 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Education and accounting from Bloomsburg University in 1974.
 
Shoemaker joined the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration in August 1989, became tenured professor of accountancy in 1995, and served as the Director of the School of Accountancy from 2004-2014. He has served on multiple committees within the school, college, and university. His areas of research include individual and corporate taxation, more specifically, issues related to tax equity and compliance.
 
He is currently working as the senior associate dean for research and faculty engagement where he oversees the PhD program, acquisition and maintenance of research data, funded research, the summer and temporary instructional budgets, and all issues related to faculty employment and governance.
