International Internships in China

The UNL College of Business is working to diversify their student experiences around the world through the Study Abroad program. CBA Management professor, Dr. Weixing Li is helping to make sure that China is an important destination in the program for many students.

During the past three years Li has helped create 18 international internships in China alone. The internships include first-hand experiences with challenges and opportunities facing American business in China. Both students and their parents have validated the program giving feedback that it has been “life-transforming,” “worth every penny”, and “above and beyond my son’s dream of a learning experience.”

In addition to learning Chinese language, students participated in traditional Chinese weddings, toured Chinese farms, and observed the operations of American businesses. 18 out of 43 CBA students interned in Chinese companies and banks, or the China offices of American companies where they learned about Chinese marketing, mortgages, cash management and global transfer.

CBA student Katie Thomas was one China Study Abroad participant and is currently featured in a video profile.
