Graduating Seniors Reflect on CBA Experience

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration graduated 135 seniors, masters and doctoral students at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 16 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Two August graduates who are ready to Start Something in the business world shared how their CBA experience gave them an advantage in the work force.

Steven Craig, a management major from Hartington, Nebraska, currently works for Talent Plus as a salesforce administrator. He was able to land his dream job before graduation because he utilized the resources available to him at CBA, most notably building relationships with his professors and CBA staff, and studying abroad at Oxford.

“As much as I planned for college, almost nothing went the way I had envisioned. I never imagined I would study abroad in Oxford, nor have the opportunity to share my adventures with so many people. Making connections with countless faculty and staff has made my college journey all the more worthwhile. I came to UNL wanting to work with technology and I’m leaving to work with people at the company of my dreams,” said Craig.

Omaha, Nebraska, native Eric Reznicek received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance on Saturday. He accepted a position as a technical lead at HUDL, founded in 2007 by CBA alumni to provide online video analysis and coaching tools. Serving as ASUN president and student regent his senior year, he stressed the importance of networking with the faculty.

“Many of our professors came to CBA from the industry they teach about. If you are looking for real knowledge, real experience and solid advice, these are the people you want it from,” he said. “The number of times I received an email from someone because my name had been given to them from one of my professors is staggering. The CBA faculty are smart, involved, hard-working and, most importantly, they care about your success.”
