Economics Doctoral Candidate Accepts Faculty Position at New Mexico State University-Las Cruces

Department of Economics Doctoral Candidate Mingming Pan has accepted a position at New Mexico State University-Las Cruces as an Assistant Professor of Economics.

Pan grew up in China, and after witnessing the significant changes during China’s economic development and opening process, enrolled as a graduate student at UNL.  Pan credits her success to, “the understanding and supportive faculty at the UNL Economics department.”  She said that the faculty “enabled her to obtain a solid theory foundation, ample knowledge in a variety of fields, and rigorous and independent research abilities."

“Looking back, I am grateful for all the opportunities given to me during my Ph.D. study,” said Pan.  “BBR research opportunity equipped me with empirical analysis skills, teaching of various courses allowed me to realize my genuine interest and potential in teaching, the McConnell fellowship allowed me to produce high-quality research, the internal research presentation opportunities enabled me to frequently present research and receive feedback from faculty and fellow students, and the conference travel funding encouraged me to exchange research ideas with scholars outside UNL.”

The faculty and staff at the UNL Economics Department wish Pan success as she begins her professional endeavors.
