CBA Celebrates New School Year with Back to School Bash

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln kicks off a new school year with the Second Annual Back to School Bash on Friday, August 22 from 3-6 p.m. CBA new and returning students, parents, alumni, business partners, faculty, staff and administrators are invited to network with the rest of the CBA community, enjoy Valentino’s pizza and Pepsi products, win prizes and dance to the band, Lemon Fresh Day. RSVP by Monday, August 18 at cba.unl.edu/bash.

Dr. Donde Plowman, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Dean said, “The Back to School Bash provides the opportunity for the CBA community to celebrate the start of an exciting new year. We have another one of our largest incoming freshman classes this fall. More and more alumni are reconnecting. This event gives all involved with CBA the chance to meet our faculty and staff, and hear more about our new College of Business Building. We break ground this winter, and those who attend the bash will learn more about that as well.”

Inaugural Back to School Bash
Sandhills Publishing, the bash’s platinum sponsor, will have a table staffed by CBA alumni and former interns to provide giveaways. The event offers the chance for attendees to get their photo taken, receive CBA sunglasses and win lunch with the Dean or a Start Something Prize Pack at tables staffed by Undergraduate Programs, Graduate Programs, Career Services at CBA, Information Technology Services and Communications and Marketing.

Additionally, local radio station, KFRX 106.3, will be at the bash for a dance challenge with UNL students competing in their Tuition Mission contest. The multi-day contest, which is a unique version of ‘Survivor’, has students competing in a series of challenges while living on a school bus parked outside the Nebraska Union.
