The College of Business Wellness Committee won the Chancellor's Outstanding Contribution to Wellness Award for their efforts to promote wellness throughout the college and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the 2016-17 academic year. Kimberly Barrett, assistant director for Wellness Services and  Fitness Programs, presented a plaque to the members of the committee at the annual Wellness Ambassador Forum held August 17.

“As wellness ambassadors, our role is to help promote wellness at Nebraska and the College of Business and to encourage others to work toward a more balanced lifestyle,” said Kerri Hiatt, associate director of graduate programs and senior MBA advisor.

Sara Weixelman, human resources generalist in the Office of the Dean, said she enjoys working with the rest of the Nebraska Business committee to make sure activities throughout the year reach different elements of well-being, such as emotional, occupational, physical, environmental and social. Some of these efforts included campus walking maps, an employee health screening day, “stress-free breaks,” spring potluck, UNL Walk at Lunch, EveryMove Big Ten Summer Challenge, cooking classes and more.

The College of Business Wellness Committee received the Chancellor's Outstanding Contribution to Wellness Award in August 2017 for their efforts to promote overall wellness in the college and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

“The plaque is a nice recognition of our participation in the larger University wellness initiative,” Weixelman said. “I think our most successful venture was our spring potluck in May, where we focused on the social aspect of the gathering.”
