Business and Liberal Arts Career Fair Welcomes Nearly 900 Students

Business and Liberal Arts Career Fair Welcomes Nearly 900 Students
Business students converge on Career Fair at Pinnacle Bank Arena
The Business and Liberal Arts Spring Career Fair brought together nearly 900 students and more than 150 prospective employers on February 22. The event, held at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, highlighted employers recruiting students studying business and liberal arts.

The career fair gives students direct access to recruiters from companies across the country. Students have the opportunity to learn about businesses, network with recruiters and build connections with employers for careers after graduation.

“I started coming to the career fair my freshman year and it has been a great way to meet employers and ask questions in a safe environment. My communication and networking skills have gotten much stronger because of experiences like these. I’ve also gained a great network of connections to find a career after graduation,” said Ethan Stuckwisch, a sophomore marketing and management major from Omaha, Nebraska.

Business students and those enrolled in professional enhancement courses – BSAD 111, 333 and 444 – are required to attend the career fair to explore careers options and interact with potential employers. In professional enhancement (PrEP) courses, students receive career preparation training in interviewing, résumé development and networking skills. CBA students take four one-hour PrEP courses while enrolled in their undergraduate program.

"Career Services at CBA and PrEP courses help students learn how to impress recruiters. Attending the career fair with professional attire, strong résumés and engaging conversations about their strengths gives CBA students an advantage. Every year employers tell us the quality of their career fair interactions with CBA students continues to be positive," said Dr. Rachel Larson, director of Career Services at CBA.
