The 2021 New Venture Competition is a celebration of entrepreneurial learning and competition. Hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center for Entrepreneurship, this competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students, including those enrolled in the online MBA program. Team composition may vary so long as the lead presenter is currently enrolled at Nebraska or has graduated in the semester prior to the competition. Special exceptions will be made this year in order to allow for participants who may not fit the current criteria but were eligible and intended to compete in the 2020 NVC that was canceled due to the pandemic. To be eligible for the grand prize, the winning team must feature a student with 51% ownership of the venture and also be a registered entity with the State of Nebraska.
Individuals and teams are highly encouraged to register at the earliest date possible! By registering early, you gain access to the numerous and varied resources, tools, mentors and individualized coaching and plan review sessions designed to help you better address the core criteria used in evaluating plans and competitors. Trial subscriptions to LivePlan, a powerful online business plan development software, and weekly sessions devoted to creating and perfecting your business plan will also be available to registrants through April 6.
There are two-steps to the registration process this year. Step 1 - complete and submit this registration form. A team member from the Center for Entrepreneurship will then contact you with instructions for completing Step 2. All future event updates, tools, coaching and other materials for individuals and teams will be communicated via email.

- April 12 | Round 1 - 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- April 12 | Round 2 - 2 to 5 p.m.
- April 13 | Finals - 1 to 4 p.m.
